NTGF will be present at the Amnesty International Filmfestival and the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival

Festival Director Kam Wai Kui will speak the 2008 edition of the Amnesty International Filmfestival that will take place from March 26 - 30 in Amsterdam. After the screening of Gwen Haworth's She's a Boy I knew, Kam Wai Kui will discuss matters of media representation of transgender people in the Netherlands. Furthermore, Justus Eisfeld will speak from his position as chair for the Transgender Network Netherlands and Transgender Europe on why Dutch transsexuals are still forced to be sterilized before they can change the gender for the Dutch law.

Kam Wai Kui will take part in the debate Recasting Gender: Reflection on Transgender Representation at the 22nd edition of the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival on April 5. He will discuss matters of media representations from his 10 years experience as festival organiser for both the International Transgender Film & Video Festival in London (1998/1999) and the Netherlands Transgender Film Festival (from 2001 till now).
