The festival presents a special programme on FTM's (female-to-male trans) who suffer from insufficient visibility in the media, especially in comparison to the transvestites or MTF's (male-to-female trans) whom the media consider to be more "flamboyant"…
The FTM programme offers a selection of short films that are screened for the first time in Holland, covering topics such as manhood, how to act like a natural straight guy (is there such a thing?), and how one's own sense of gender identity is called into question when faced with a beloved's or a friend's transitioning.
 

A Boy Named Sue

The stone butch Sue transitions into Theo over the course of six years. This process has been captured by the camera of friend and director Julie Wyman, resulting in one of the best-documented portrait on a FTM.
Skilfully structured, A Boy Named Sue explores the physiological and psychological changes facing Theo and his close circle of loving friends. By using an individual life to question labels such as gender identity, fag, dyke, butch and femme in an intimate way, the documentary contemplates on the wide range of gender identities that brought these people together.
